The Konya Tropic Butterfly Garden and Insect Museum (KTKB) project in Konya will be the first of its kind in Turkey.
The project is established on an area of 380.000 m2 which aims to be Turkey’s first, “Butterfly Valley Park” with the biggest butterfly flight area in Europe, Sports venues, shopping facilities, pools and an amphitheater, as well as the Museum of Love Wings.
Muhammed Elma, the Project Manager of Evcag Construction kindly shared with us that Tropical Butterfly Garden and the Insect Museum will be built on an area of 10,567 m² and has a construction area of approximately 7600 m².
The project, which will consist of three birds, one in the shape of a butterfly; Mr. Muhammed Elma, indicating that a 1597 m² patchwork butterflies shaped with artificial rocks and ponds can be observed in natural habitats, also has a 396 m² production farm where visitors can see the cocoon formations of butterflies and specially designed places with 376 m² of visual objects related to various insect species.
Project Manager Mr. Elma; In all the details required for waterproofing from the foundation of the Butterfly Museum stated thaty they chose Interfiks as a solution partner and HYFIX Chemical Waterproofing System has been preferred because the system has been used widely by many simlar projects such as museums, sports facilities and education buildings.
Mr. Elma, indicating that they can make quick and easy application in all kinds of weather conditions without needing an additional protection layer after the application saced them great deal of time and money. He also stated that using this eco-friendly product, which does not contain oil-derived emissions has been the right decision for the natural environment of the museum.
