The Ministry of Environment and Urbanism announced its 2014 targets in urban transformation.

The Ministry of Environment and Urbanism will give loans totaling 1 billion Turkish Liras for the ones whose homes have been destroyed in the scope of urban transformation this year.

It is reported that up to 20.889 buildings and 12.261 offices are declared as risky. In this frame, demolition work was initiated in a total of 55.734 independent units. 14.886 workplaces was destroyed. The demolition work of the buildings where there is risk detection continues this year. This year 50.000 more buildings will be identified.

 650 thousand homes and shops to be demolished

Last year, with the decision of the Council of Ministers, 6,931 hectares of land was declared risky. 377.167 houses and shops where the number of people living in these areas was determined as 1.690.832 people.

The Ministry plans to declare 100 areas more risky this year. While it is estimated that 650.000 shops and dwellings will be declared risky, the destruction of these structures will also begin.

Rental support will be provided for renting a thousand 360 TL in Istanbul

Citizens who have fallen in the context of urban transformation, will continue to apply for loans and rent support for new homes or holdings. In this regard, the Ministry will provide a loan of 1 billion Liras this year. With credit support in cooperation with the banks, they will be supported to buy new houses for the demolished citizens.

A budget of 550 million Liras was also allocated to the owners of risky buildings for rent assistance. According to the region, the ministry will pay rent to citizens at rates ranging between 425 thousand and 360 thousand Liras . The amount of the rent will be 680 per month for the owners in big cities such as Ankara, İzmir and İstanbul and it will be 1.360 ​​Liras for the tenants.
